Fantastic Four Reboot Casting: Who Should Play Marvel's First Family?
The Invisible Woman
What went wrong last time... Let's get this out of the way: Jessica Alba didn't cut it as the Invisible Woman. She's an incredibly attractive woman, and I'm sure she's amicable enough to work with, but out of the four main characters she was the absolute hardest to believe in her role. Sue Storm isn't supposed to be the super genius her husband is (nobody is, really, aside from their daughter Valeria, but I digress) but she needs to keep up with him in a way that Alba's performance never really even attempted. She needs to have a strong will to both deal with Reed's peculiarities and to bring him back down to reality when he starts to lose his grip on it. Sue didn't really have much at all to do in the first film, and was written as more of a nagging girlfriend in the second. Now, this isn't really Alba's fault, but it still doesn't feel like she brought much to the character either way. Going forward... Two names that have been thrown around recently for the role are Alice Eve and Amber Heard. Both actresses certainly look the part, and would fit right in as Sue Storm. Rachel McAdams (with blonde hair) is another actress who could bring strength and dignity to the role. Susan is a well established character with many strengths, but it's also a role that a talented young actress could put her personal stamp all over, much in the way that Christopher Nolan's actors did with their respective roles in his Batman films.
Jordan Schaeffer has many pan-nerdly interests.
Said interests include but are not limited to: Comics, old horror movies, comics, video games, TV shows of a certain caliber, and comics.
Ask him anything about The Venture Brothers.
He is American, but is starting to get a sneaking suspicion that everyone else on WhatCulture! is British.
