Fast & Furious Franchise: 20 Greatest Action Sequences Ranked

19. Hobbs & Shaw - Samoa Chase

While the final action sequence in this excellent spin-off film is the worst of the film's main set-pieces, it's still a very good finale.

Refreshingly, this climax - in which Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson), Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham), Hattie Shaw (Vanessa Kirby) and various residents of Samoa battle the highly advanced army of main villain Brixton Lore (Idris Elba) - is not just another OTT explosion-fest and is something a bit more low-key.

With a shortage of weapons on Samoa, the characters have to be more creative; most memorably, a train of linked cars is used to bring down Brixton's helicopter. This makes for a very interesting final battle and allows the ending of Hobbs and Shaw to really stand out from the franchise's other set-pieces.

This is a memorable, inventive and satisfying climax all around but the best part is the ending three-way fight between Hobbs, Shaw and Brixton, which is absolutely awesome. As well as this, it's here where Hobbs and Shaw finally put aside their differences and learn to work as a team and this moment is surprisingly adorable.
