4. Aimes Shoots Down The Family's Plane
As Dom pulls up to the top of a dam, Roman, Tej, Han, and Ramsey show up in a plane to apparently save the day.
But of course it's a trap, and the plane is soon enough struck by a rocket launcher fired by none other than Mr. Nobody's (Kurt Russell) successor Aimes (Alan Ritchson), revealing him to be secretly working for Reyes.
After we see the plane explode in a fireball past the mountains, leaving the occupants' fates uncertain, a head-smackingly contrived flashback reveals that Aimes has actually been working with Reyes since the very beginning, having been present when Reyes' money was stolen back in Fast Five.
There's lazy, forced storytelling and then there's... whatever the fresh hell this nonsense is.
