Fifty Shades of Grey: 10 Actors Who Should Play Christian Grey

7. Jon Hamm

Why? Purely in terms of attractiveness and presence, Hamm has that unquantifiable essence that makes him appealing to women as a sex object, and to men as an ideal, and we already know he looks incredible in a well-tailored suit thanks to Mad Men. He may be a little older than has been suggested as the ideal age for Christian Grey, but age has never been an impediment for casting in the past, as I've already quantified, and there's nothing to say that the film-makers won't decide that the character might actually work better as an older man, based on traditional movie trends. That would certainly deal with those who suggest that retaining Ana as such a young figure in a Hollywood film might be too much to take, and crucially too much to push past the censors. Hamm has the charisma, the look and the on-screen presence to pull off the role, and he would bring an authenticity to the entrepreneur side of the character.
