Fifty Shades Of Grey Casting: Who Will Play Christian Grey?

Tell us who you think should play E L James' hero in the upcoming adaptation

In the past few weeks and months as the success of E L James' Fifty Shades trilogy went from huge to ridiculously massive, the internet has been abuzz with news of the inevitable forthcoming movie adaptation, and with casting suggestions from fans. At some point in that time, almost every working actor with something about them - whether in terms of simple attractiveness or that certain intangible essence that would make them seem a perfect fit - has probably read reports linking them to the role. Our own list of fantasy picks list seemed to suggest that Channing Tatum, Ian Somerhalder, Christian Bale, and Jensen Ackles were the front-runners in the eyes of the fans, but that doesn't necessarily mean any of them will be picked when it comes to the casting process. And now we want to know exactly what the fans think. So share your own thoughts below in our poll - who should play Christian Grey? If your own pick isn't included, use the Other option or share your thoughts in the comments. Whoever is chosen has to fit the bill, not just in terms of how he looks, or whether he is the right age, but also in terms of the spirit of the character. He must have presence and that recognisable darkness bubbling under his surface, while also retaining an element of vulnerability, or at least hint at his wounded soul, and crucially, he must be a good actor to make sure the film doesn't just become a late night, soft-core Red Shoe Diaries variant. We've spent some time thinking about it - which is where our fantasy casting list comes in, suggesting ten actors who could play the role, based on all of the factors above. So click next to read our own ten picks for who should play E L James' male lead...
