10. Anna Signs the Confidentiality Agreement
The character of Christian Grey works because in the novels he appears to Ana as a dark and mysterious figure. However, in a movie I'm willing to bet money that all he appears to be is creepy and awkward. After saving Ana from getting a drunken kiss by her friend Jose Rodriguez (a lot time went in to choosing that name) he then takes her back to his place and after lecturing her about being drunk with a guy she can't trust proceeds to... ask her for sex. Not just ask, mind you! Christian Grey is a billionaire with a lot of secrets to hide so he has all of his lovers sign a confidentiality agreement before getting with him. So what he in fact wants Ana to do is sign a legal document that says that he can do whatever he wants to her and she cannot tell anyone about it. In other words when things get out of hand she can't go for help without an ensuing legal battle. Hmm, Christian sounds like a great guy. Ladies, if a guy said to you that before your relationship went anywhere you had to sign an agreement saying that no matter what he did you had to remain silent would you sign it? No, of course not, that would just be creepy and weird. Which is exactly how it will make movie Christian look: creepy and weird. Following the revelation in the book that Ana is still a virgin, Christian informs her that they can forgo the formalities and just hop in bed. He tells her that she can sign it later.
