Fifty Shades Of Grey: Who Should Direct And Star In This Smutty Smash Hit?

Christian Grey

Christian Grey is described as tall, muscular and broad-shouldered, with copper-coloured hair and smouldering grey eyes. Although normally appearance as described in a book isn€™t seen as essential when casting the follow-up film, Christian€™s physical dominance and handsomeness is unusually essential to the plot, from his assertion over everyone he meets to Anastasia€™s fundamental attraction to him. Of course, I€™m sure viewers would rather see one of their favourite handsome movie stars in the raunchier scenes too. So who fits the bill?

Ryan Gosling

ryan gosling A popular and oft-mentioned speculation, it is probably due to Ryan€™s romantic endeavours in The Notebook that he keeps coming up in conversation about this role among fans- he and Rachel McAdams did win a Best Kiss award after all! We also got a peek at what else he can do in the bedroom in Blue Valentine, which surely only whet the appetite of many. He doesn€™t consider himself conventionally handsome but many would disagree, and although he may have to shave off that rugged beard, he has the right hair colour and broad build. He recently announced a year or so off from acting to focus on his debut directing project, but if this doesn€™t film until next spring then it may still be plausible€

Henry Cavill

henry cavill With Man of Steel soon to land in cinemas in June, Henry Cavill is likely to become massive. Even if the film tanks (although expectations are currently high), his chiselled cheekbones, light eyes and well groomed appearance already stand him in good stead with the ladies. With the dark direction Man of Steel seems to have gone in, Henry should also be able to pull off Christian€™s brooding looks and sinister one-liners effortlessly, an essential part of a character that brings an awful lot of confusion and mystery to one sex life.

Channing Tatum/Alex Pettyfer

tatum pettyfer Two words: Magic Mike. Both of these guys proved that they have sexy moves, good bodies, an effortless charm with the ladies (well, Channing does anyway) and this film was an unexpectedly huge hit, making sure anyone who hadn€™t already heard of these two do now. It is possibly hard to picture either of them in Christian Grey€™s well-tailored business suit, ruling an office from behind a desk, and Alex Pettyfer especially still seems a bit young and scrawny, but he did just do a test reel for Gus van Sant of the scene in which Christian takes Ana€™s virginity - a personal bid for the project, but if executives like what they saw then that could bode well. Whatever happens next, both hold definite potential and could thrust their way onto our screens again€
