We all have our favourite books, video games, TV shows, or musicals that we're hoping will - at some point - get made into movies. When you get attached to something, it's hard not to imagine what it might end up looking like as a film... you start imagining who will play the lead, for example, or whose directorial style is best-suited to the material. And the more popular the thing in question, the more chance there is that Hollywood will come calling. Problem is, sometimes things aren't popular enough, which means the likelihood of filmic adaptation isn't particularly high. The long-awaited Halo movie - based on the Bungie video game series that started life on the original Xbox console - is one that often gets kicked around as a movie everyone wants to see that will never be made - but truth is, despite the failed attempts, there's still a chance that a Halo flick will be made. It's been in development on and off for years and years, and somebody always seems interested in making it happen. But what about movies you really want to see that you know - 100% - will never see the light of day? Ones you know ain't ever gonna happen. Our vote goes for another sought after video game adaption - that of the original BioShock, which - if done correctly - could make for one of the greatest science-fiction movies of all time, what with its insanely intelligent script, vivid dystopian world, brilliantly memorable characters, and potential for some of the best action scenes in Hollywood history. The issue here is that the BioShock movie is constantly being shut down (and last was in 2011) for some reason or another, and - as we move further onwards - its overall popularity will flag.
