FINAL ORBIT is LOST in Space?
Lost in Space? I mean... "LOST (the t.v. show) in Space" and not the movie adaptation of the t.v. show LOST IN SPACE. You get me? That's the setup of Final Orbit, the upcoming Platinum Studios thriller comic which is being transformed into a feature by the ever busy writer Russell Gerwitz (Inside Man, Righteous Kill) and to be produced by Valhalla Motion Pictures (who produced the new Hulk movie) according to Variety...
"Final Orbit," which will be published by Platinum Studios Comics early next year, tells the story of a lottery that gives thrill-seekers a chance to vacation aboard a newly completed International Space Station. But the trips turns nightmarish after the station is damaged, trapping tourists in a crippled module with no trained astronauts to help them. The claustrophobic horror of space has always resulted in a neat conceptual idea such as Alien and even last year's Sunshine but I don't believe one where the core characters aren't actually trained astronauts or pilots has ever been used before? Could be interesting and I wonder if it will be made with a fully realistic tone or will add such things as aliens, or even ghosts or psychological madness to the foray as this kind of idea sometimes plays out. You can find some conceptual art from the comic HERE.
