Fresh off the
official Facebook page comes
the first stills from
Amy Heckerlings rom-com
Vamps and its safe to say, the film looks set to breathe new life into a done to death genre, pardon the pun. Clueless director Heckerling reunites with Batgirl
Alicia Silverstone for the vampire flick, which sees two bloodthirsty babes (Silverstone and Shes Out Of My Leagues
Krysten Ritter) chasing love in New York city whilst simultaneously being chased by deadly vampire assassins.

The film also stars the queen of the cult,
Sigourney Weaver (you know Aliens Ellen Ripley),
Wallace Shawn (Clueless, the voice of Rex in the Toy Story Trilogy) and veteran actor
Malcolm McDowell (A Clockwork Orange) in a lighter take on the horror sub genre. No trailer released yet for this one, but the images alone show promise. Ritter looks like a matured Wednesday Addams, and the photos bring a modernity to the vampire genre whilst still keeping those gothic roots.

Writer/director Heckerling brought a fresh prospective to the teen movie in 1982 with
Fast Times At Ridgemont High then made Jane Austen hip with 95s Clueless, now shes attempting to break the mould a third time with a more human take on the vampire movie. With the sickly
Twilight saga drawing to an end maybe the fanged females can be entertaining once more in Vamps, which will be in cinemas later this year.
