First Look: Anthony Hopkins as Odin in THOR!

A tough to sit through four minute ET set visit of Marvel's Thor has delivered some first look goodness from next May's Marvel blockbuster. Above is our first glimpse at Anthony Hopkins as Odin and Natalie Portman as Jane Foster. There's also quite a neat but very brief look at an elaborate set built for a scene featuring Chris Hemsworth's Thor, which looks likely to be from the same part of the movie as Hopkins' image above. It's worth watching for about 40 seconds (you get these exclusive looks very early on, thankfully) but then trust me, you will wanna switch off before the Hemsworth/Portman interview gets going. It consists of Portman delivering insincere 'Wow, Amazing, Your So Cool" flatterings to her inarticulate and awkward co-star (who by the way is HUGE now compared to his much leaner frame as Kirk's Dad in Star Trek) and there's just a blatant lack of chemistry between the pair.

Thor is filming now, aiming for a May 6th, 2011 (U.S.) and May 20th, 2011 (U.K.) release. Kenneth Branagh directs a cast that includes; Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Natalie Portman (Jane Foster), Tom Hiddleston (as evil brother Loki), Anthony Hopkins (Odin) and Rene Russo (Frigga), Jaimie Alexander (Sif), Colm Feore, Stellan Skarsgård (Selvig), Idris Elba (Heimdall), Kat Dennings (Darcy) Ray Stevenson, Joshua Dalls, Tadanobu Asano as The Warriors Three And from the wider spectrum of the Marvel Universe - Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury) and Clark Gregg (as Agent Coulson) will make cameo's, potentially alongside other characters from the connecting Avengers films.
