Another letter, another great ship.

The Rebel Alliance are still making their way through the alphabet, one cool new ship at a time.

The latest letter they've decided to incorporate into a vehicle is 'U', with a first proper look at the U-Wing from Star Wars: Rogue One being revealed.

Although the ship has appeared in concept art, and the behind-the-scenes footage shown at Star Wars Celebration Europe displayed the inside of it, the new still (courtesy of The Star Wars Show, which you can watch below) gives us our best look yet at the new design.

It looks pretty cool, a nice variation on what we've already seen in this universe, and very much feels like it belongs as part of Star Wars. The ship itself (full name Incom UT-60D, which is rather less catchy) isn't a fighter like it's other lettered-wing counterparts, but a troop transport and gunship, with Matt Martin (a member of Lucasfilm's story group) saying: "It's there to bring in rebel troops through heavy fire zones and get out as quickly as possible. The wings move depending on the situation. It's there to drop off troops and provide air support."

The footage shown at Celebration gave us a look at space monkey Bistan piloting it, so we've got that to look forward to, and early art showed the ship delivering Rebels into combat.
