Baz Luhrmann's 3D adaptation of the classic American novel The Great Gatsby has begun filming out in Sydney!

Baz Luhrmann's adaptation of The Great Gatsby has begun filming out in Sydney, Australia and Coming Soon have set images of stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire driving an old fashioned automobile. F. Scott€™s Fitzgerald€™s classic 20€s set, American Dream deconstruction novel has been adapted by Luhrmann with his regular co-scribe Craig Pearce (Romeo & Juliet, Moulin Rouge) and will be shot down under in 3D, though the tale is set in New York! Luhrmann is never one to shy away from an experiment or a challenge and with a $150 million budget, he is under pressure here not only to deliver a financial blockbuster but also an Awards season contender. Tobey Maguire leads as Nick Carraway, DiCaprio is the wealthy Jay Gatsby, Carey Mulligan plays his lover Daisy Buchanan. Supporting turns are taken by Isla Fisher as Myrtle, who is a married to Jason Clarke's George Wilson but is having an affair with Tom Buchanan (Joel Edgerton). Finally Aussie newcomer Elizabeth Debicki is Carraway's love interest, Jordan Baker. Don't expect too many further set photo spoilers from the film as much of it is being shot inside the sound stages.
