Baz Luhrmann's adaptation of
The Great Gatsby has begun filming out in Sydney, Australia and
Coming Soon have set images of stars
Leonardo DiCaprio and
Tobey Maguire driving an old fashioned automobile.
F. Scotts Fitzgeralds classic 20s set, American Dream deconstruction novel has been adapted by Luhrmann with his regular co-scribe
Craig Pearce (Romeo & Juliet, Moulin Rouge) and will be shot down under in 3D, though the tale is set in New York! Luhrmann is never one to shy away from an experiment or a challenge and with a $150 million budget, he is under pressure here not only to deliver a financial blockbuster but also an Awards season contender.
