First Look: Tom Cruise is Jack Reacher

First look at Christopher McQuarrie's written and directed thriller, based on Lee Child's bestseller 'One Shot'.

Now that the dust has at least partially settled on the controversial casting of Tom Cruise as the larger than life, and just plain large, literary character Jack Reacher we now get a first look at Cruise in the upcoming Christopher McQuarrie written and directed thriller, based on Lee Child's bestseller 'One Shot'. In Jack Reacher Cruise plays an ex-military policeman who happens to find himself caught up in a murderous case involving a psychotic sniper. Entertainment Weekly spoke to McQuarrie, the writer/director of The Way of the Gun, and writer behind The Usual Suspects about Cruise's on screen character.
"Someone asks him at one point in the story about the difference between a military policeman and a regular cop. Reacher points out that , every suspect is a trained killer.""He is free from any sort of anxiety. He is truly not encumbered by all the bulls€“t that makes up our daily lives. He literally and figuratively has no baggage."
Jack Reacher is due for release 21 December in the US, and stars Tom Cruise, Rosamund Pike, David Oyelowo, Richard Jenkins, Alexia Fast, Robert Duvall, Jai Courtney and Werner Herzog.
