First Looks at EDGE OF DARKNESS, CADILLAC RECORDS & PANDORUM!

STAR TREK wasn't the only movie featured in this week's Entertainment Weekly magazine. Also on the agenda was first looks at three other movies, all of them which sound interesting enough for us to have at least some interest in. First being EDGE OF DARKNESS, the long awaited acting return for Mel Gibson, here playing a homicide detective who investigates the death of his activist daughter, which leads to a huge government conspiracy. This is the Martin Campbell (CASINO ROYALE) directed project which Robert De Niro walked out on during filming, to be then replaced by Ray Winstone. Next up is CADILLAC RECORDS, a period drama that chronicles the rise and fall of influential R&B record label Chess Records... with Adrien Brody and Jeffrey Wright leading as Muddy Waters and Leonard Chess respectively. The image below shows one of many real life singers in the movie, Beyonce Knowles playing Etta James. Film is released on Dec. 5th in the U.S, no U.K. release yet. And finally, PANDORUM... a sci-fi drama starring Dennis Quaid and Ben Foster as stranded astronauts 500 years into the future. They have no knowledge of who they are or what their mission was. That one should be out next year... source - cinema blend
