Four Very Cool GHOST RIDER 2: SPIRIT OF VENGEANCE Posters

Visually stunning teaser artwork revealed for the imminent Ghost Rider sequel...

Call me a crazy fool, but I'm pretty excited for the impending Ghost Rider sequel. Yes, the first film was absolutely atrocious, one of the worst comic book adaptations in recent memory and flat out worst blockbusters I have ever seen, but this long delayed (five years) follow-up has a lot going for it, not least of all a set of four brilliant posters as reveled by Bloody Disgusting... Believe it or not, these are officially released posters by Columbia Pictures... Compare these to the dreary photoshop artwork of the original and hopefully we get more of an idea of the manic, pulpy direction that Crank directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor are taking this sequel in. In fact, calling it a sequel seems a bit foolish, it just seems to be using the original film as an establishing narrative. The basic premise of the character has been set up and now they can run wild and play with the ideas. Kind of like a new comic book artist coming in to give anything a fresh link of paint, and from the looks of the teaser trailer Neveldine and Taylor have delivered on all the promise squandered by Mark Steven Johnson's lackluster original, helping to channel the crazy wild-eyed Nicolas Cage that we know and (sometimes) love. Elsewhere in the cast they've secured the ever wonderful Idris Elba as a warrior monk, Violante Placido (from The American), Ciaran Hinds (from There Will Be Blood) as the Devil and - according to IMDB - a role for Christopher Lambert. The plot will see Johnny Blaze (Cage) hiding out in Eastern Europe and finding himself having to try to stop the Devil in his efforts to take human form. Ghost Rider: Spirit Of Vengeance is out in the UK on the 22nd February 2012 and a week earlier in the States on February 17th.
