FRIDAY THE 13th has just gone in my diary. This looks, dare I say it, good?

The newly released and extended trailer for Marcus Nispel's FRIDAY THE 13TH is surprisingly well put together and although it shows and hints at virtually all the death scenes (the cumshot of any a slasher flick), I'm still rather intrigued about seeing more. And for a reboot of a horror franchise... wait did I really just say that? Hey, I mean it.. this trailer is well made. Have Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes actually produced a good horror movie? Man, who thinks that statement will come back and kick me in the ass come February time?

Nispel already gave us the glossy remake of THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE which as far as these recent remakes of horror classics go, well it was watchable. He is at least able to drive up suspense and make a good slasher movie. My main problem with that remake was that they were remaking a classic and perfect picture. FRIDAY THE 13th, as much as I love the original, it's only a good movie... it's the influence and staple it left on the genre which has made it last. And of course the sequels which hit double figures, making the character of Jason become this pop culture icon. As well as the new trailer, we also got a new poster today. Simple but effective. Big thanks to Yahoo Movies... The movie opens, naturally, on February Friday the 13th 2009.
