FRIDAY THE 13TH PART II could be ready for August 2010

FRIDAY THE 13TH PART II is likely to hit theatres on August 13th 2010, according to The Hollywood Reporter's Risky Business Blog. Now the trade don't actually give that date but do say the best case scenario if this picture gets moving would be a "second half" release next year and that August date seems as good as any. After grossing $60 million worldwide, it's no surprise New Line and Platinum Dunes are aggressively looking to put forward a quick sequel, with writers Damian Shannon and Mark Swift once again working on the screenplay. The Hollywood Reporter say Nispel won't be back to direct FRIDAY THE 13TH PART II and neither will the surviving members from the first part.
