Game Over, Man! Review: 5 Ups & 5 Downs
3. The Disappointing Action Sequences
Being fashioned as a Die Hard parody, there was sure potential for this film to serve up some nutty action sequences in order to thoroughly lampoon the over-the-top nature of action movies both current and classic.
Though there are a few inspired moments where it strikes the right note, for the most part the set-pieces are blandly shot and quickly glossed over on the way to the next big gag. To that end, it's clear where Newacheck's real filmmaking interest lies.
The movie is relatively well-made for the most part and clearly wasn't shot on a shoestring budget, so it's a shame that with more-than-adequate resources, more effort wasn't put in on the action front.
