23. Slime

This is a Ghostbusters movie, so there was inevitably going to be some ghost slime getting chucked about, and in what feels like a bid to normalise the reboot the trailer actually leads with it. The blue ghost goes all skully and vomits the green gunk straight at an inquisitive Erin.

What's striking is that this is a long sliming. It runs for a solid five seconds in the trailer, and no doubt much longer in the film itself, meaning you can expect this to be a big, gross-out comedy beat. Slime being disgusting by itself is so 1984.

Speaking of 1984, Bill Murray has gone on record that getting coated in the slime for the Ghostbusters was "disgusting", so no doubt Kristen Wiig took some convincing to be the unlucky 'Buster.
