It may be cheating a bit to claim an entire film is a WTF moment, but Godzilla's Revenge is so wrong in every possible way that it would be a disservice not to put it here. Through every moment of the film you sit asking yourself "How did this get made?" and "Why am I subjecting myself to such mental torture?" Despite being directed by the same man who gave us the original Gojira, Godzilla's Revenge is what happens when no real effort is made on every aspect of the production. It was a rush job shoved out in an attempt to get kids to shell out cash for what ends up being a clip show disguised as a coming of age story. Where to start with this one? First of all, nearly all of the monster footage is comprised of stock footage from older films. There is only one original fight, and that is between Godzilla and one of the worst monsters ever created, Gabara, who looks like a walking piece of blue excrement. Even this isn't real, though, because all of it takes place in the mind of a little boy. Yes, this movie is basically a dream. This of course allows for a WTF moment where Minya, Godzilla's Pillsbury Doughboy-esque son, not only talks in a goofy voice, but changes his size at will. So a lot of the movie is an annoying little boy running around with a human sized Minya as they watch clips from past Godzilla movies. Since no sane person likes any of these things, it amounts to being a complete waste of time. Unlike every other moment on this list, Godzilla's Revenge has no redeeming value even at the most basic level of entertainment. Sure, you could argue that the film teaches children a valuable lesson about standing up for yourself against adversity, but surely there are better movies with that same message you can show your kid? The entirety of Godzilla's Revenge is the greatest WTF moment of the franchise because you cannot believe how low the series got at one point. Truly a rock bottom movie, which at least means it can never be that bad again...right? Have your own WTF Godzilla moment? Let us know in the comments.
