Gore Verbinski goes animated

Gore Verbinski has agreed a deal with Graham King and John Logan (producer & screenwriter who respectively worked on THE AVIATOR) for his next movie to be an animated feature, currently projected for a 2010 release. The $100 million movie has yet to be written and plot details are scarce but it's expected that Verbinski will bring his PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN visual effects team on board, say Variety. Could he be interested in doing a Japenese style animated movie? This is what the helmer said back in October...
