Gosling & Dunst in 80's murder mystery

Love stories live and die by their casting. THE NOTEBOOK excelled with a lightening chemistry between Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams which was so on the nose that the pair even went on to have a relationship. That's the kind of inspirational casting you need. You can transport mediocre material into stunning material, and stunning material into perfection. Will this duo have the chemistry for us to care about their plight here? I'm not sure. Variety say that Ryan Gosling has signed on to star in ALL GOOD THINGS, a 80's period love story/murder mystery setup at Groundswell Productions from first time feature director Andrew Jarecki. Kirsten Dunst is in talks for the female part...

The movie follows Gosling as guy on the fringe of inheriting a New York real estate dynasty when he falls for Dunst, the girl "from the wrong side of the tracks" who disappears and so begins a washed up detective's investigation which quickly turns into a deadly political game. Filming is to begin in April on the East Coast. Gosling I think is on his way to becoming one of the most interesting young actors that we have and his last four performances you could put up against anyone else. Dunst is just Dunst... but from the sound of things she is going to be vacant for most of the picture, so we might just be able to tolerate her here. I'm just craving to see a CHINATOWN style 70's murder mystery but hey, I like the 80's too. Gonna be interesting to see what impact the setting has on the tale and what makes it differ from setting it in the present day.
