Gravity: 10 Reasons It's One Of 2013's Crowning Achievements

6. Sandra Bullock

Gravity Sandra Bullock I find this point most interesting considering the Internet, as they always do, completely wrote off and criticised this casting decision from day one. It€™s one thing to be unsure, but when people proclaim that they€™re abandoning the movie because they don€™t quite see how one actor fits the picture yet, they only end up looking like idiots when that aforementioned actor nails the performance. You would think these people would learn their lesson... Personally, after seeing Gravity, it€™s not just the remarkable performance that had Sandra going through six months of preparation before shooting (director Alfonso Cuaron actually coached her through different styles of panting to evoke different emotions for different situations), but also how relatable she is to most human beings. Yes, she€™s a Hollywood actress, but if you toss someone as glamorous and dolled up as Angelina Jolie or Scarlet Johansson into this role, I€™m not sure if viewers would care as much. The character and actress become one in Gravity, creating a fictional character that you actually gasp and clench your seat for in anxiety when she is tossed into adversity.
