Gravity: Watch The First Trailer Here
Alfonso Cuaron's hugely-anticipated epic, thoughtful sci-fi film Gravity finally dropped its first trailer today, and if we thought our expectations couldn't be any higher before now, it seems that we were wrong. Cuaron (best known for directing the superb sci-fi thriller Children of Men) returns for his first feature in 7 years, starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney as scientists who are pulled into the most unforgiving landscape in the universe - deepest, darkest space. Bullock plays a medical engineer called Dr. Ryan Stone, who is partaking on her first space shuttle mission, while Clooney plays Matt Kowalsky, a veteran running the flight, and it is to be his last before retirement. However, things get dicey when their shuttle is destroyed, leaving the pair completely alone, only tied to one another with their meager oxygen supplies running lower every second. Apparently, the only way they might find a way home is to venture out into space - quite what that means exactly, we'll have to wait and see. Even forgetting the stunning visuals that are sure to make this an unbelievable 3D ride, the bleakness of the premise should make for an extremely enticing, nerve-wracking night at the cinema. I think few of us will be expecting Stone and Kowalsky to survive the film, and I can't wait to find out for myself. Above all else, it's an Alfonso Cuaron movie, and it's been too long since we've been able to sit down and watch one. Gravity is released in UK cinemas on October 18th, 2013, and it will be released in 3D and 2D and IMAX
