Green Lantern 2020: 10 Actors Would Could Play Hal Jordan
It's coming in 2020, but who could do the character justice?
It has been 4 years since the release of Green Lantern starring Ryan Reynolds. For the executives at Warner Bros., it was going to be the beginning of their next multi-picture film franchise, but it was not to be. Poor writing, a goofy portrayal of Hal Jordan, and worse villains (a floating yellow cloud and a college professor with a swollen head) sank the franchise before the closing credits rolled on the movie (which was cocky enough to have a post-credits scene revealing Sinestro transforming into his Yellow Lantern form). After being panned by critics and comic fans alike, any plans for a sequel were quickly shelved. The saving grace for Green Lantern on film came from DC's comic rival Marvel - with the powerhouse establishing the idea of a cinematic universe and producing hit after hit, DC/Warner Bros. decided to follow suit. Now that the DC Cinematic Universe has begun with Man Of Steel, it was only a matter of time before the Green Lantern was given another opportunity at the big screen. And so it was unsurprisingly announced recently that there'll be a rebooted Green Lantern movie released in 2020. With many fans of the Ring-Slinger eagerly awaiting a second chance for DC to get it right, one of the most crucial decisions will be choosing the actor who will play Hal Jordan. DC has actors from all over television and movies to pick from. Who will they choose?
