Greg Kinnear has a Flash of Genius

csh-006920.jpgNow this sounds like a fun little movie. A flick about obsession, dignity and what that does to our families and our own well being. Possible spoilers at the end of this post so I will quickly give you my opinion now... This movie sounds great, and Kinnear is the perfect guy for this type of obsessive character. He can play the morally good-do-er who you want to constantly get behind but you can see their is something a little darker behind those eyes. Variety are reporting that Greg Kinnear has signed up for the factual drama Flash of Genius which is being setup at Universal and Spyglass Entertainment. The film will mark Mark Abraham's feature debut, with Lauren Graham also set to star. Kinnear will play Robert Kearns, who was an inventor who spent most of his life fighting a Detroit automaker who he charged with stealing his clever invention of the intermittent windscreen wiper. Graham will play his wife who see's the effects of what Kearns legal actions has on putting straight on their own marriage and children. Abraham spoke to the trade...
"This is a David vs. Goliath story, but I liked the fact that what Kearns fought for was almost whimsical and (it shows) the high cost someone can pay for refusing to compromise their dignity."
PROBABLE SPOILERS AHEAD... Kearns who died in 2005, eventually got a huge multi-million dollar settlement.
