Gremlins Reboot: 10 Reasons We'd Rather Stare At Bright Lights

2. It's Already Been Remade

G2Problem: So after all of these arguments, you still want to make a Gremlins reboot. I have to say Hollywood, you play a hard game. However, you're not off the hook yet because there's just one problem with remaking Gremlins...you've already done it. Gremlins 2: The New Batch was made, by Joe Dante nonetheless, under the strict condition that he be allowed to do whatever he wanted with it. Warner Brothers, high on Batman cash, said yes; and the result was Dante's comedic masterpiece. A masterpiece that, even in his own admission, was supposed to spoof the first one by taking the formula and injecting a heaping dose of zaniness. If They HAVE To...: ...well, they don't really have to at this point, now do they? I mean there's a remake already, right there, clear as crystal. To remake it again would be an error on par with the last generation of Michael Keaton's clones in Multiplicity. That in mind, where could we possibly go from here?
