Guardians Of The Galaxy: 6 Ways It Could Link In With Other Movies

6. Star-Lord

In the comic books, Star-Lord is Peter Jason Quill - a N.A.S.A astronaut whose single Mother was killed by an alien when he was eleven. Whilst on a space mission as an adult, he is (albeit inadvertently) recruited by an alien entity called the Master of the Sun to take on the Star-Lord mantle and act as an intergalactic police officer. While he is certainly human in this upcoming movie, it seems as though he is more of an outlaw than a police officer and that could mean his background is altered - and that could mean he has connections with any one of the characters we've already seen. Could he be a former S.H.I.E.L.D protégé (bearing in mind that Natasha Romanoff started her training as a child, the fact that his "walkman" indicates he's been off Earth a while would, in turn, indicate that he was only a child when he left)? Could he be a childhood friend of one of the existing characters? Could he be related to any of them? Essentially, the possibilities are endless, but don't be surprised to find that Chris Pratt's character has links to existing Earth-based characters in the Marvel cinematic universe if it turns out to be the case.
