8. Gamora - Lynn Collins
Casting the role of Gamora requires a very special actress indeed, given that she must encompass many things all at once; immense beauty, absolute confidence in oneself (just
look at the above outfit), and also the ability to subtly convey vulnerability while also being a convincing physical specimen. One of the more complex and intriguing characters in Guardians of the Galaxy, Gamora is the adopted daughter of Thanos, and the last of her superhuman species, characterised by enhanced speed and strength, as well as the ability to heal oneself. Gamora is also an extremely skilled assassin, adept at all manner of combat and weaponry. Lynn Collins has proven through appearances in films such as X-Men Origins: Wolverine and John Carter that she's down for a bit of pulp, though of course she wasn't really given much to do in either. Looking at her TV work, particularly her brief stint in True Blood, reveals the best facets of her talent; sex appeal and the spunky demeanour required to make this complex role work.
