1. Darkhawk Makes An Appearance

The Theory: Following superhero Darkhawk appearing on an Amazon storefront page for Guardians Vol. 2 and also having his own Marvel Legends action figure alongside the Guardians, many fans began to suspect that he might make an appearance in the film.

The Truth: Darkhawk is nowhere to be seen, though you can't blame fans for thinking he might've been in there somewhere considering how senselessly he was lumped in with the real Guardians movie merchandise.

James Gunn actually addressed the controversy early on, admitting that Marvel's merch department clearly didn't think their strategy through very well, because Darkhawk honestly wasn't in the movie. Fans were right to be skeptical of Gunn, but as it turned out, he wasn't lying.
