13. Blue-Screen Shootout

There are several glimpses in the movie's trailers of Star-Lord firing his guns into the air at various enemies, and due to the otherworldly locations of these shootouts, a blue screen has been used to fill Chris Pratt and Michael Rooker's entire field of view during filming.

The interesting thing to observe here is the lettered markers placed on the blue screen itself, to give both actors an indication of where the various enemies and contextual objects will eventually be keyed into the scene.

It must feel absolutely absurd shooting it at the time, like a kid playing pretend in a really, really expensive playroom, but the end results clearly speak for themselves.
