Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 Concept Art Reveals New Monster
Look at baby Groot's face!
While attentions may have turned to the confirmation that the Guardians will be in Avengers: Infinity War, we do still have their own film to get excited about first.
Although still some way off Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2, we're slowly going to start seeing more of the film in the coming months, and now we've got some new concept art (courtesy of Empire) showing one of the villains the team will be facing (which you can see in full below).
It ain't exactly a pretty thing, looking like an eight-limbed T-Rex that's crawled out of the Upside Down, but does look like it's providing a real test for Star-Lord, Drax, Rocket Raccoon, and Gamora. The highlight, however, is baby Groot, whose face suggests the little tree is having the time of his sapling life.
Who/whatever this beast is, it won't be the main threat of the film. The Guardians will also have to deal with Yondu and the Ravagers, although director James Gunn reveals to Empire that "There’s a mutiny and Taserface (Chris Sullivan) is a character that leads that." Then there's Elizabeth Debecki's Ayesha, a High Priestess who will be out for revenge on the Guardians.
It's shaping up to be a packed film, also including Kurt Russell's Ego (aka a certain someone's father), and Pom Klementiff as Mantis.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 will be released on April 28, 2017 in the UK, and May 5 in the US. Are you excited? Let us know in the comments.
