Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 3: 12 Songs That Must Be On Awesome Mix Vol. 3

2. Train – Drops Of Jupiter (2001)

There wasn’t a dry eye in the house when Cat Stevens’ Father and Son played in the closing moments of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, so we’re already emotionally preparing ourselves for the next movie.

Serving as the ultimate soul-soother, Train’s Drops of Jupiter could surely work its way into Vol. 3, perhaps as a beautiful bookend to one of the more sentimental scenes.

Aside from its planet-related title, the track appears suited to Star-Lord’s personal story, as lead singer Pat Monahan once revealed: “[The song] was as much about me being on a voyage and trying to find out who I am. The best thing we can do about loss of love is find ourselves through it.”

Who could argue with that?
