Halloween: 15 Most WTF Franchise Moments (So Far)

7. The Curse Of Thorn (Halloween 6: The Curse Of Michael Myers)

Like most long-running classic horror franchises, Halloween eventually gets so desperate for box office bucks it starts needlessly explaining the origins of its titular monster.

The dreadful sixth movie introduces the concept of the "Curse of Thorn", revealing that Michael's relentless desire to eliminate his family line is due to him being cursed by druids, forcing him to attempt to murder what remains of his family every Halloween night (or as the cult calls it, Samhain).

Michael Myers has always been at his best as a mysterious, ambiguous evil force: the fact we didn't know why he was obsessed with killing Laurie in the original movie is precisely what made it so terrifying.

For the sixth movie to over-explain Michael's compulsion and effectively make him an agency-free pawn is, well, pretty lame.
