1. The Underwhelming Final Battle

No spoilers here for how things turn out, but if you were hoping for a truly epic final showdown between Laurie and Michael, prepare to be disappointed.

If you've seen the trailers, you pretty much know what you're getting here: a relatively short brawl in a visually unremarkable location that doesn't even conclude in particularly interesting fashion.

Again this feels like a deliberate move on Green's part, to subvert fans' expectations and delivering something more low-key, but after 13 of these movies, a gonzo slug-fest would've gone down a real treat.

Compared to the infinitely more suspenseful and entertaining finale in 2018's movie, this falls pretty damn flat.

But as baffling as Halloween Ends often is, it's certainly not all bad, and will absolutely win itself a passionate band of cheerleaders. And so, here's what it gets right...
