Halloween Ends Review: 5 Ups & 5 Downs

3. John Carpenter's Killer Score

By far the most consistent aspect of Green's trilogy has been the musical scores, composed by the great John Carpenter along with his son Cody and godson Daniel Davies.

And just like the two previous movies, their musical stylings here do a ton of the heavy lifting with regard to mood and atmosphere.

While the Carpenters and Davies are certainly borrowing from their established motifs, they also build on them with some eerie new compositions that make for a great listen both in the movie and on their own.

By having the series' original director contributing music to this new trilogy, it allows some of his DNA to seep back into it - and most importantly, into The Shape himself.
