Halloween: Everything You Need To Know About Michael Myers
6. He's The Result Of A Cult
Carpenter often referred to Michael as a 'force of nature' when on-the-set of the original film, referring to Michael's more supernatural abilities. As the films progressed, so too did Michael's powerset, with latter sequels effectively giving him super strength and the ability to teleport.
But according to one timeline, this is all because Michael is the result of a long-orchestrated plan by an underground cult. That's right, in Halloween 4-6, often referred to as the Thorn trilogy, Michael Myers' evil is the result of a curse placed on him as a child by the Cult of Thorn.
This cult has existed in secret for millennia and is composed of a group of Druids. Every few decades, a constellation of stars would appear in the shape of their Thorn insignia, on All Hallow's Eve. In order to spare themselves from disaster and misfortune, they would choose one family to bear the Curse of Thorn. This curse would force whoever it was placed on to murder their entire family in a sacrificial ceremony on Halloween night.
In 1963, this curse fell upon the Myers house, and that's why Michael murdered his sister Judith on Halloween night. It's also what continued to drive Michael to kill his living family members and what gave him his supernatural powers.
