Halo loses both it's studio's

halo3.jpgThe big screen movie adaptation of Halo has now lost both it's studios after Universal Pictures and 20th Century Fox both pulled out of financing the movie. It's been said that both studios were concerned that the movie was rising above it's $135 million budget. Ken Kamins who represents executive producers Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh is quoted as saying... "What happened was this: Universal, on behalf of both studios, asked for a meeting with the filmmakers just prior to the due date of a significant payment. Basically, they said that in order to move forward with the film, the filmmakers had to significantly reduce their deals. They waited until the last minute to have this conversation. Peter and Fran, after speaking with their producing partners and with Microsoft and Bungee, respectfully declined." So what does this mean for the much troubled Halo then? Kamin went on to say that Microsoft are conducting talks with other studio's about financing the movie but is anyone going to take the risk on this big money project? We will have more when this story develops but it's not looking to good for Halo right now. source - variety, coming soon
