Harry Potter: 10 Dumbest Things Voldemort Did

8. Not Giving Half A Thought To The Elder Wand's Allegiance

In the end, of course, Voldemort is undone in his quest to use the Elder Wand to become inconceivably powerful by him not understanding who the real master of it was. And when you think about it, it's not because it's information that isn't available to him, it's because he's blinded by emotion and doesn't examine the facts properly.

Had he spent any time thinking about how Dumbledore came into possession of the Elder Wand, he could have worked out that he didn't need to kill Snape - and from his own point of view, weaken his position - because Dumbledore didn't have to kill Grindelwald to master the wand.

It doesn't end up ruining too much, but it's such a strange flaw in his logic, considering the evidence is right there for him.
