Harry Potter: 10 Scenes Actors Hated Filming
6. Feasts In The Great Hall - Warwick Davis
The Great Hall is the most iconic location in the wizarding world. Every Harry Potter fan remembers what it was like to see this extraordinary set for the first time. The four house tables, the floating candles, the enchanted ceiling, the glorious feast – it all looks fantastic on screen.
However, the actors didn’t enjoy filming these scenes for one specific reason: the rotting food. It was nice to begin with – they were even encouraged to eat a lot of it – but after a day or two, their plates of food started to rot. Indeed, Warwick Davis has spoken about the terrible odour coming from the Great Hall. Before arriving on set, he could smell the stench rising from the food that had been sitting around for days on end.
From an outsider’s perspective, filming in the Great Hall looks like a heavenly experience, but in reality, it was a grim environment to work in.
