How he died: Rebounded by his own Killing Curse. Who killed him: Harry Potter (or himself. Or both, really) Why it is emotional: This was the end of it all. Whilst it wasn't emotional to see Lord Voldemort meet his necessary demise, it did inspire a sense of justice that tugged at the heart strings of the audience. With the weight of all of the pain he inflicted, seeing him flaking away like sunburnt skin was a brilliant moment, but it felt entirely just. In any time of conflict or war, when the outcome is peace, it is the sense of relief and the grief over the loss of loved ones which hit the hardest, and Voldemort was the physical embodiment of those things because he was the prime cause.
