Would it be a Harry Potter movie if Harry wasn't the most important player? As a founder of Dumbledore's Army, Harry was a crucial member of the team, and acting as a stand in teacher for the group of students, he is the driving force and motivator behind the whole operation.

Harry had first hand experience of defending himself in a dangerous situation, after coming face to face with Lord Voldemort the year before, and so was the natural choice to lead the team. Pulling from his own experience while channelling previous teachers such as Lupin, Potter was able to pass on much of his knowledge to his fellow students.

As well as leading the students that signed up from the first, Harry welcomed Seamus into the group despite their previous argument, and delivered one of the greatest lines in the history of the franchise when he reminded Umbridge in the Forbidden Forest that he must not tell lies.

Harry persevered through the unknown to save, not only Arthur Weasley, but Sirius as well. He protected the prophecy and kept it out of the Death Eaters’ hands, and though he suffered a moment of weakness, attempting to use the Cruciatus Curse on Bellatrix Lestrange, he couldn’t perform the spell because he didn’t truly want to. Despite seeing her murder the closest thing he had to a family, Harry was still too good, and too compassionate to wish that same harm on the Death Eater.
