Harry Potter: Every Dumbledore’s Army Member Ranked

2. Hermione Granger

Though Harry’s name is the one known by every wizard in the world, he would have achieved very little if it wasn’t for Hermione Granger. She was the brains behind just about every one of Harry’s triumphs, and if it wasn’t for her he’d have perished before he even reached the Philosopher’s Stone in his first year.

It was Miss Granger that came up with the whole idea of Dumbledore’s Army in the first place, as a means to bring herself and her fellow students up to scratch on Defence Against the Dark Arts, and it was she who put Harry in the role of teacher.

She then set up the initial meeting, and was ultimately responsible for recruiting every single student that signed up for the team. If it wasn’t for Hermione, there would have been no army at all, and the students would have spent the year learning Defence Against the Dark Arts theory under Professor Umbridge, never once lifting their wands.

Not only did the young witch fight in the Battle of the Department of Mysteries, she saved Harry from Professor Umbridge by making up the story of Dumbledore’s secret weapon. It’s genuinely difficult to keep track of the amount of times Hermione has played the hero, and saved Harry’s skin.
