Harry Potter: Every Order Of The Phoenix Member Ranked
14. Rubeus Hagrid
Hagrid was quite literally a big part of both iterations of the Order of the Phoenix, and was one of Albus Dumbledore’s most trusted associates. The Hogwarts headmaster gave Hagrid charge of the most precious cargo of all, the boy who lived, when he asked him to bring Harry to Privet Drive in the first place.
Years later, when the Order had come together once again, Hagrid was trusted with watching over Harry once more. The Order could have chosen anyone to accompany the true Harry to the Burrow during the Battle of the Seven Potters, but they trusted Hagrid. While others died, and suffered serious injury, Hagrid delivered Potter without a scratch.
Though he was ultimately unsuccessful in winning the giant community to the Order’s side for the Battle of Hogwarts, he was instrumental in fighting them off after they took Voldemort’s side. In the books, the gamekeeper led Buckbeak, the Hogwarts Thestrals, and the Centaurs in the fighting after Harry’s return from the ‘dead’, a great help in the ultimate victory.
No one was more loyal to Harry than Rubeus Hagrid, and protecting the boy meant everything to him. It's easy to see just how torn apart he was when he believed he had failed.
