Harry Potter New TV Show: 25 Castings That Must Happen
8. Simon Pegg And Jessica Hynes As Mr. And Mrs. Weasley
Like with many of the castings in the films, Julie Walters and Mark Williams were so wonderful as the Weasleys that it's hard to picture anyone else in the role. Still, Simon Pegg and Jessica Hynes would be great.
They're an absolutely delightful pair of comedy actors who bring a sense of warmth to all of their performances, and they could definitely make the Weasley parents just as lovable as they were in the movies. Furthermore, the two have played a couple before (in the Channel 4 sitcom Spaced) and they'd be well-placed to handle the dramatic moments of the story too.
Hynes has given many impressive dramatic turns throughout her career (like in Doctor Who and Years and Years) and though Pegg has mostly worked in comedy, he's always done an amazing job at the darker moments in his funny roles. Notably, he delivered a heartbreaking depiction of alcoholism in The World's End.
And as if all of that wasn't enough... they're both natural red-heads too! Seriously, what's not to love here?
