Rather than getting Albus - a 14-year-old child remember - an appropriate back to school present like a pencil case or one of those giant white rubbers everyone has for the first two days of school, Ron gave him a Love Potion.

Not only is that a remarkably odd present for someone who was the victim of a love potion as a child to give (especially when it was immediately followed by him almost dying), but it's also basically an invitation to coerce non-consensual romance (or worse) out of someone else. When you think about it, it's basically a date rape drug, and you'd think Hogwarts would have banned it.
