From the very first scene, you know things are going to be different this time. The murky hues are a nod to the darker tone of the story, and the film certainly has its fair share of terrifying moments. The dementors, the Grim, the Shrieking Shack, and Lupin’s werewolf transformation are enough to scare anyone.

The film also benefits from the short source material. With the exception of The Deathly Hallows adaptations, all the later movies suffer from some serious pacing issues.
