Draco Malfoy was a constant source of trouble for Harry. From the moment the pair of them arrived at Hogwarts, they had a bitter rivalry. Though they hated each other with an equal level of disdain, Draco was clearly the nastier of the two.
In line with the rest of his family, Draco was rich, vein, and immensely proud of his pure-blood heritage. Throughout his time at Hogwarts, he demonstrated his villainy by bullying a number of students. As well as his ongoing rivalry with Harry, he never missed an opportunity to ridicule the Weasleys’ lack of financial security, and he also loved to insult Neville’s intelligence whenever he could.
Towards the end of the series, however, we saw a different side to Malfoy. In The Half-Blood Prince, he struggles to meet the demands of Voldemort’s task and becomes increasingly desperate. And in The Deathly Hallows, it’s clear Malfoy does not enjoy being part of the Dark Lord's new regime.
As such, Malfoy turned into a pretty interesting character by the time the series ended. Whilst he was never particularly heroic, he still had plenty of depth.
