Has Matt Reeves bit into THE RIGHT ONE?

Matt Reeves, the childhood friend of J.J. Abrams who directed the monster hit CLOVERFIELD, has been hired by Overture and HAMMER HORROR films to direct a remake of the Swedish vampire flick LET THE RIGHT ONE IN according to Variety. You may remember that's the movie the Internet film community have been going crazy over in the last few weeks, labelling the film one of the truly best of the year. OWF reader aphexbr loved it...

I saw this at Frightfest in London last month, and most people agreed it was one of the movies of the festival. It€™s slow, lyrical and very touching with only a glimpse of gore, focusing mainly on the relationship between the leads. Highly recommended for those without a need for fast action or a fear of subtitles.
Tomas Alfredson's original film based on a novel by John Ajvide Lindqvist centers on a boy who befriends a female neighbour who moves to town but things may not quite be what they seem. It's not expected that the movie will get much of a theatrical release, if any, but is expected to hit Region 1 DVD in March The remake is expected to be released next year and will quickly begin development once Reeves has worked on THE INVISIBLE WOMEN, a movie about a bored housewife who turns to a life of crime, which is currently in pre-production.
